Nissan Repair: p1105, solenoid valve, vacuum line

Question
QUESTION: I replace the MAP sensor with the battery cable off.Plugged everything back up,erased the code on the obdII.Started it up,let it run.Switched it off, restarted it and the light came back on.The same code before changing the map sensor p1105.New sensor what could be the problem now? HELP HELP

ANSWER: Hi Raymond -

I need to verify what was replaced, as code P1105 is the MAP/BARO solenoid valve, as usually defective MAP sensors put out codes P1100 through P1103.

Can you get back to me?

QUESTION: I replaced the MAP sensor itself, not the solenoid valve.

ANSWER: Hi Raymond -

The code indicates the valve. Have you tried cleaning it?

QUESTION: I replaced the valve, but i went to the Nissian forum with the same problem question. One the that might help us solve this is that their is no vaccum in these lines. One guy replaced all vaccum line, still same code. One guy replaced gas cap.One guy noticed that the map sensor is checked once the car starts up.It throws the code after it shut off and restarted up .Also same here. The valve came off a working car.Only done this for a test to keep from throwing money away. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.But still no luck>

Answer
Hi Raymond -

Unfortunately we are all at the mercy of these darn engine codes. Fortunately most of them have little effect on engine performance and are minor issues.

Your actions would be the exact ones I would go through in order to tackle this problem. I am disappointed to hear they all did not work. You are right in saying that the vacuum (or lack thereof) may play a role in this. Perhaps you should follow the vacuum line back. It should go to a thermal port (opens when certain engine temperatures are reached to allow vacuum through). Perhaps that is defective. I know it is another cost to change and shooting in the dark, but just a thought.

Good luck, my friend. I will continue to think about this -
