Hi, the Honda engine on my Sears tractor surges and runs lean. I put a new carb and fuel filter on it last season and it ran perfectly but the problem has returned. It seemed to happen when I ran out of gas and then added some. Carb seems clean; I checked the fuel pressure while cranking and it was 1.5PSI. Does that seem low? Other than that I am not sure what to look for. I don't want to spend $200.00 on another carb if I don't have to. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you add stabilizer to the fuel before you put it away? When you ran out of gas,you probably picked up dirt and some sediment from the tank. Take the carburetor off and re clean it.If you can take the tank off and clean that out with some good hot soapy water,and let it dry. Check the fuel filter.
