Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Straton, gasket intake, gasket

I just bought a 1995 White Outdoor Power Roto Boss 550 Model number 215-447-190. Engine is a B&S MN# 133402, Type:0011-01 Code:95013007.  Ran it for 25 minutes and worked great.  It sat for about 5 hours and I started it but would only run if I left it on choke.  After 10 minutes that it would not start and stay running at all.  Any ideas?  Just frustrated.  Thanks for your answer.

How long has the fuel been in the carburetor? Smell the gas it may smell stale,raunchy or old.
What you need to do is rebuild the carburetor or take it apart and clean it with a good carburetor cleaner as some compressed air. Just make sure that if take it apart you take notes,pictures as you want to make sure it goes back the same way. Kit # is 498260  $6.95 Plus shipping. You will need a gasket # BS,692283
