I want to change the starter on my kohler 16 hp model#mv16qa ; mounted in 1987 walker 54" riding mower. the dipstick tube is directly in front of the starter . How do I remove it ?

Answer
Hello Jerry:

>>You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp (IE5 or Higher Required) and Select Enter as Guest. Now Select the Thumbnail of the Engine Catalog you Wish to View. Select the Magnum M/MV8-20 Thumbnail. Now Download the "Service Manual" TP-2203-A Date 5/04.
>>The Instructions for Removing the Electric Starter Start on Page 90 of 152.
>>The Oil Fill Tube should have a Bracket that is Bolted to the Blower Housing and Once this Bolt/Screw is Removed from the Oil Fill Tube, the Tube is Pulled from the Engine.
>>There is Usually an O-ring on the Tube that Seals in the Engine Block.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
