Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears Craftsman Snowblower, sears craftsman, craftsman snowblower

Question
I have a 6yr old, 30", 11 hp Craftsman snow blower, model # 536.888110.  I'm trying to find out, 1.) what type of oil to use, 2.) how to change the oil, and what type of spark plugs to use.  It needs a tune-up and my friend said he will do it, if I can find out this information for him.  It's always run wonderfully, but this season it sounds as though it's starting to 'spit & sputter' a bit when he started it after adding more gas, though it didn't stall and continued running... just didn't sound 'well'.  It's a 4 stroke engine.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hello Sharon:

>>SAE 30 Engine Oil is Suggested and I Use SAE 10W30 Synthetic in All my Equipment (automobiles included).
>>The Breakdown in my Manual and Online Does Not Show which Engine is on this Unit.
>>Send me the Make, Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. These may be Stamped into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover).
>>There is Usually a Pipe Plug Near the Oil Fill that is Removed and Allows the Oil to Drain.
>>The Correct Spark Plug and How Much Oil Required to Fill the Crankcase will Depend on the Engine Make, Model and Type/Service Numbers.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
