Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 5 hp briggs and stratton h/shaft, valve spring compressor, twin cylinder engines

QUESTION: got a 5 hp briggs and stratton that i took off a tiller and made a go cart with. i now have more money in the engine than its worth ( new gas tank carb valves and on and on) i have it all put together and starts very good when cold and runs well as soon as it gets warm things change and if the engine dies it floods and wont start again for 15 or 20 min. mod# 135202 0119-01

>>On this Model Engine I Usually Suggest Reseating the Valves if the Valve Clearance Requires Adjusting.
>>**Remove the Carburetor and the Crankcase Breather/Vent and the Valve (Stem) Cover so you have Access to the Valve Stems, Springs and Keepers.
>>Set 1 Cylinder (on Twin Cylinder Engines) to TDC on the Compression Stroke. Using a Blade Style Feeler Gauge, Check the Clearances. The Intake should be .005in - .007in and Exhaust .009in - .011in. If the Feeler Gauge will Not Slide Between the Valve Tip and the Tappet, then you Must Reset the Clearances.

>>Now Set the Idle Air (L) Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Rapidly Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. Reset the Engine Idle if Required.****

QUESTION: thank you for gettin back to me, i didnt mention in my first question but i have the briggs l head manule and have already lapped the valves my carb is the pulsa jet fixed jet carb and i dont think its a bad casting cuz this one is new and the old carb did the same thing. i set both valves at the min .005 and .009, springs are new too.
