I was wondering if this Craftsman 9Hp snowblower with a 28" clearing width  has the ability to hook a light kit up to it. Does this model have an alternator and does it have the extra plug to plug into a light kit?

Your engine is a Tecumseh model lh318sa-156587h.  

You can install a light if your engine if you have the Tecumseh 611111 alternator and a flywheel with internal magnets.  According the the Sears website you engine has an alternaor.

I would physically check to see if your engine has an alternator before buying a light kit.  You can check for an alternator by looking for and unused wire coming from the engine and measuring the output voltage.  The other option is to remove the engine shroud and flywheel to verify the alternator is mounted on your engine.
