Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): adding a utility light to a snowblower, craftsman snow thrower, correct lighting

Question
As a small project I would like to add a utility light to the handle crossmember of my Craftsman Snow Thrower. This unit has no battery, its pull start or electric start only.  How can I get electric from the engine to power an AC or DC utility light for night time use.  Thanks, Ralph

There should be a wire that is coming out of the engine This may have a set of wires 1 red and 1 black. Put a voltage tester on the wires when it is running see if you have 12 Volts. If you have voltage then you can install a light it will have to be the same voltage as the output of the engine.Check by the flywheel shroud if you see a single wire hanging out there that isn't attached to anything thats for the light. The light runs on AC current and there is no battery required. Most snowblower motors come with a lighting coil now, but if yours didn't then just go down with the model and serial number of the motor not the snowblower and buy the correct lighting coil and light and your done.
