Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda Haromy IO11, fuel treatment, carburetor

Question
I have a Harmony IO11 riding mower. It hasn't been started in a year. When I start the mower, I cant adjust the throttle and the engine was running at a very high speed. If i keep it running I'm afraid i will burn out the engine. Any help on how I can get my throttle working would be appreciated.

Answer
Sounds like the throttle on the carburetor is stuck. You could try moving it with a pair of pliers and working it back and forth a few times. If it's still sticky, try spraying some deep creep or other fuel treatment on it and in the throat of the carburetor and keep working it  until it frees up.
