Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): braking system, yard machines, lawn tractor

I changed the drive belt on my yard machines riding mower now parking brake wont hold. What did I miss?

Sorry it has taken so long to respond.  A virus infected my computer and it took a couple of days to repair.

What is the mower model number?   The model number is on a sticker and the model number format is xxx-xxxxxx or xxx.xxxxxx.
