Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sear Lawn Tractor 26HP m/n 917.27690, hydrostatic transmission, transmission model

Question
Engine runs but hydrostatic transmission does not propel forward or backward.  Belt turns the tranmission pulley but power does not drive the wheels, maybe a little bit.  Tried the purge technique several times.  Question: what is most likely cause; can I repair it & who makes the transmission?

Answer
The transmission manufacture and model number are stamped on the transmission housing or located on a sticker on the the trasmission.

Have you cleaned all the grass and grime off the tranmission so you can find the transmission model number?
