Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere RX95, twin cylinder engines, compression stroke


Question
It seems every spring I have troubles starting this unit. (and nothing runs like a deere?)  I've charged the battery, blade sharpened, tire fixed, gased up - yet the electric starter just won't turn over the engine.  When it would start, you'd have to turn the key several times in a row, there'd be a click, and then you repeat and finally it woudl start.  This spring, theres a small click, but no engine turnover.  Any ideas what I can do?
