Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn tractor mower v-belt, industrial belts, lawn tractors

Question
I have a 1998 Toro 267H, model #72085 with a Toro 48" wide mower, model #78265. I could get a new Toro v-belt, part #92-6958 for about $80, but I would like to buy an equal or better than equal v-belt for a lower price. I looked on the internet but I can't find any cross reference for anything (Goodyear, Gates, or any others). Also, some sites say that lawn tractors require a special belt. I would like your opinion on doing this switch and some cross referencing.

Answer
Hello Dave:

>>Have you Tried your Local Auto Parts Retailer?
>>For Most of my Belts I Use the Industrial Belts from Advance or NAPA and they Cost WAY Less and Last Longer than the OEM's Belts that came on most of my Equipment.
>>A 142.7" X 1/2" Belt is Called for by Toro, and this Belt is Available Only through Toro at this Time.
>>I have Looked and Asked around for this Belt from Other OEM's and Belt Manufacturers and have had No Luck in Locating an Outlet to Purchase it from as of Yet.
>>I Even use an Industrial Belt Supplier and they cannot even Order this Belt except through Toro.
>>Sorry, but I can be of No Assistance.
>>Thanks for Using All Experts. You can Try Another Expert, they may Know of an Outlet for you to Purchase this Belt.
>>Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems be SMALL ONES and as Always, May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy.

Best Wishes and Good Luck
