Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): loncin vs honda, honda gx270, honda sir

Sir:  i purchased a trencher from Harbor freight it carries a Loncin 270F I believe it is a 9hp,  i have found "parts" via Loncin are impossable to get and Harbor freight is not in a position to be helpful (8-10 week wait on all parts)   This engine "appears to be a clone of a Honda gx270 8hp, how would  i go about checking one against the other??

What parts are you looking for specifically?  The Chinese engine manufacturers DO NOT UNDERSTAND our needs for replacement parts, tech manuals, after sale service etc.. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY.  (okay im done venting)

You should be able to use parts of the GX270.  HONDA does not condone the use of their parts on CHINESE engines.  (thats just a little legal stuff they told me-so im passing it on)

Your question is timely as I am meeting with some Chinese folk this morn to address this very issue here in the USA.
