Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet, blown head gasket, cub cadet lt1042

Dear Ben, I have a 2005 Cub Cadet LT1042 with a 19hp Kohler Courage #SV590-0003. I bought it new and now has 185 hrs on it. Do you know what could be causing an oil leak that drips onto the muffler bracket? Thank you.

Sounds like you have a breather problem,look for the breather tube and remove this and clean.

Oil Leaks from Oil Seals, Gaskets
1. Clogged, broken or inoperative breather
2. Worn or broken piston rings.
3. piston blow-by or leaky valves
4. Restricted exhaust.
5. Blown head gasket/engine overheated
6. Crankcase over filled
