Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears Model 917.378410 Mulching Mower, carburetor linkage, spring hooks

Question
I have some oil leaks and the mower was VERY dirty, so took it apart and cleaned it.  Removed ther engine, etc. Put it all back together and THOUGHT I did the carburetor linkage correctly but didn't.  It now runs wide open.  I need a diagram for the linkage.  Any idea where I can find one?  Should have remembered to take a picture of it before I removed the carb.

Thanks for the help.

Answer
HI  JIM  PLEASE FIND WEBSITE AND DOWNLOAD OWNER MANUAL
IT HAS  PARTS LISTS AND DIAGRAMS

http://www.craftsmanlawn.com/Walk-Behind-Mowers/917.378410/

I SUSPECT YOUR ENGINE IS TECUMSEH 6.75 -21" SELF PROPELL

FIND PAGE 23   AND HAVE LOOK AT PT NUMBERS    SEEMS TO GIVE IDEA OF RELATIONSHIP TO EACH

380  YOUR CARB
216  RPM ADJUSTING LEVER  ( ITS ON THE L/H SIDE OF CARB MOUNT)
186  GOVERNOR LINK
19   EXTENTION SPRING  ( ATTACHES TO GOVERNOR LINK )  SPRING HOOKS ONTO 216  AND OTHER END OF SPRING HOOKS ONTO 186  THE CRANKED END OF 186  GOES INTO 16  GOVERNOR LEVER
207 THROTTLE LINK  ( LINKS BETWEEN CARB THROTTLE PLATE  AND  GOVERNOR ARM )
16  GOVERNOR LEVER
17  GOVERNOR LEVER CLAMP

THE  TOP HOLE ON GOVERNOR LEVER IS FOR (19) ABOVE
THE SECOND HOLE IS FOR THE THROTTLE LINK

THE 2 LINK RODS WILL CROSS ONE ANOTHER ( THATS WHY THE GOVERNOR LINK HAS A FORMED BEND IN IT )
BOTH LINKS SHOULD BOT BIND

THIS SHOULD HELP  BUT VERY HARD TO DECSRIBE

IF THIS NOT CORRECT ENGINE TYPE LET ME KNOW

CHEERS HOPE IT HELPS PAUL
