Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Snowblower Drive problem, friction wheel, craftsman snowblower

Question
John,

Hope you are doing well. I have a Craftsman Snow Thrower # 536.886220 (12 yrs old) that I bought used. The engine/auger runs okay but the thrower will not move ahead on 1-6 gears. On reverse, sometimes it gets a kick. I checked and felt that Jack Assy and the Roller chain needs replacement. Other drive assembly (friction wheel, disc, shaft) and wheel assembly looks okay. The Jack Assy small spoke and Roller chain are skipping (I believe). Does this feel correct to you ?
The Jack Assy part takes 3 weeks...Do I need a replacement or is there an alternative?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond.

Answer
Hello Mahesh:

>>If the Unit is Not Jumping when trying to Move, then it is Usually the Friction Disc. If the Unit is Jumping and Trying to Move, then Usually the Jack Assy and Chain are the Cause.
>>The Online Site is Updating at the Present time and I Require a Few Hours to Locate the Correct Manual for this Unit.
>>I will Respond to this E-Mail again as Soon as I can Locate the Manual or the Online Site becomes available.
>>Thanks.

Hello Again Mahesh:

>>From your Comments, I Suggest you Replace the jack Assy.
>>The Machine has been Operated to the Point that the Jack Assy is Worn Completely Out and it No Longer Jumps.
