Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lt2000 18hp craftsman mower, shutoff valve, fuel line

My mower leaks gas into the oil, even when key is off.  Eventually, the gas fills the oil to overflow.  The relay under the carb (gas plug?) activates when I apply 12 volts.  Do you know what the problem is?

You need to disassemble the carb and clean it thoroughly,
and you should replace the inlet needle and maybe the float, depending on it's condition.
  If it is a Briggs engine, you might want to install a fuel line shutoff valve for when it is parked and not in use, as they were prone to leaky carbs anyway.
