Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman model 502 254170 - No manual have questions, push button switch, craftsman model

Question
Hi there John,

I saw you answered another question recently in regards to the same mower (craftsman 502.254170)

I hear that this model is really a Murray, any idea what model the Murray mower would be?

I am trying to get the manual for this mower so if I can't get the sears one (out of print) I was hoping to substitute the correct murray manual.

I am trying to identify the transmission on this mower and cannot read the label on the transmission itself.  I want to regrease it as this is  a mower that had been sitting for a very long time and there is grease leaking out of the sides.

I am also trying to rewire the mower properly.  The previous owner bypassed the key switch with a push button switch. So the correct manual will help identify where some of the now disconnected wires need to connect.

Answer
The owner's manual does not usually have any detailed info, but there is plenty of info on the Sears website, like a very detailed wiring schematic, and it tells me that the little trans is a
Peerless, and it uses a Bentonite grease, which is somewhat semisolid.
