Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman wont stay running, carburetor, craftsman

My craftsman riding mower will not stay running it turns over but wont start...there is gas in it...if i put gas in the carb it will run until that gas is gone then it dies....any ideas...i have no clue what i am doing here....and dont wanna spend a bunch of money for repairs i could do myself

Hello Sam, make adjustments to your carburetor,however the engine needs to stay running when you make adjustments to you carburetor. You should have 3 adjustments high, low, idle. It takes air and fuel too make an engine run. Happy decision making! Let me know what happens.
