Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere 300 electrical problem, jumper cables, battery connections

Question
My john deere 300 starts with a jump(after sitting all winter)but stalls as soon as i take off jumper cables, i checked and cleaned all the battery connections and tried again and got the same results. Could you steer me in the right direction. i.e. bad coil, condenser, or battery, etc. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hello Gordo:

>>From your Description it Sounds like there are 2 Problems here.
1->>The Stator/Charging Coil or Voltage Regulator is Bad and Requires Replacing and
2->>the Battery Requires Replacing.
>>The Battery has No Charge and the Stator Not Charging; when you Disconnect the Jumper Cables, there is Not enough Voltage to Keep the Carburetor Solenoid Open so the Engine is Shut Off.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
