I am not getting a spark and wonder what sequence to use to track down the problem? Honda HRT216 SDA MZCG 6170106KF

Hi Matt, remove the ground(kill switch) wire from the ignition coil and crank the engine. If the spark is there, then there is a short in the kill circuit. If nothing happens, make sure to replace the plug and try again. If nothing happens yet, then the ignition coil is probably bad.  If the coil is bad we will have what you need:
