Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 1978 Toro snow master 20 linkage placement & carb screw placement, screw placement, typical mistake

Question
John, I made the typical mistake of not paying close attention to which adjustment screw goes where on my Toro Consumer : 38020, Snow Master 20, 1978 (SN 8000001-8999999)
Carl's Equipment & Supply site has great info but not sure which screw is which. One has long taper all the way to point and the other has machined step. Both have same size threads & can be interchanged. Also which hole does the governor linkage go into on the throttle shaft assembly?

Answer
Hello Michael:

>>Sorry for the Delay. I had to Perform Upgrades to my PC and it Took a While. The PC had Not been Upgraded in More than a Year and some of the Upgrades Took a While to Download and Install. They also had my PC in Pieces for Internal Cleaning.
>>If I Remember Correctly the Air Mixture Screw with the Machined Step is the Idle Air Mixture Screw. If it is Not you can Tell for Sure when you Install it into the Carburetor.
>>When you Turn the Mixture Screws Completely in Until Snug, they should be the Same Length. If 1 is Longer than the Other when Both are Snug, then Reverse them and then they should be the Same Length.
>>The Linkage will have Worn the Hole that it was Originally in and this Hole will have a Rounded Edge and the Other Holes will have a Squared Flat Edge to them.
>>I Use Carl's Equipment and Supply when I cannot Locate a Breakdown at the Toro Site.
>>Both Sites have the Same Quality Breakdown Pictures and Both are Good Sites to Use.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
