QUESTION: i have a ltx 1000 craftman 917-272463 it runs good  but the axle came out i opened and put the circlip,close the tranny assemble everything and know it doesnt move what i did wrong.or need more oil.

I found out it has a Hydro-Gear Tranny. The Sears breakdown does'nt tell me what model. I'll need to know that to say how many ounces of oil it takes. See if you can find a model # tag on the tranny.

I finally found out something. It takes 59 ounces of 5W-30 oil. Sometimes you have to cycle from forward to reverse several times to purge the air out of the system before it will move. Is it making any strange noises? The case usually won't go back together of something got put together wrong.
