Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): MTD Snowblower Traction Drive Cable, mtd snow thrower, friction wheel

Question
Where does the spring end of the traction drive cable, hook up to on a MTD series 600, 10 hp two stage snow thrower/blower? Model #315E660G500

Answer
Hello Frank:

I could Not Locate the Model #315E660G500 Unit but I did Locate a Model #315E660G000 Unit. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (MTD)  and Enter the Model Numbers 315E660G000. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Unit you Wish to View. Select the FrameAssy/Drive Assy File. The Drive Cable Spring is Shown as #21 in the Breakdown  and is Connected to #4 (Brkt Assy, Friction Wheel). Most of the MTD Snow Thrower/Blower Units have the Same Set Up, so this should be Correct for your Unit. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
