Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): McCulloch gas blower model # 50005102, new spark, spark plug

Question
I pulled the plug, attached the plug wire on plug,turned switch to on, put it up to the head, pulled to start, and have no spark. What could be the problem?

Answer
Remove the starter cover to access the ignition coil.  Dis-connect any wires connected to the ignition coil.  Re-install the starter and re-check for spark.  If you have spark then the on/off switch or wire is the problem.  If you have no spark, then the coil is bad.

Make sure you use a brand new spark plug when checking for spark.
