Volkswagen Repair: 1999 Beetle, ac evaporator, rain problem

Question
Hello! I have a water leak in passenger footwell after the heater or defrost has been running. The entire cooling system has been checked. It is not the heater core, and it's water, not antifreeze. I do not have a sunroof. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with rain. Any suggestions as to where to check from here? Thank you.

Answer
Most likely problem is the heater core. If you say it is good then on the passangerside of the dash where your pollen filter goes there is a gasket for the air distribution box. Leaks can be found there. Does in get wet more often when you wash your car? I know you said that it isn't a rain problem but more info is better then less. Also if water is present there the ac evaporator is there. It may be freezing over and dripping on your carpet. When you use your ac does ice or water fly out of the vents? Has your car been in a accident? Check door seals or any seals missing under the hood under the water deflector. To remove this you have to remove the wiper arms. Water leaks are hard to diagnose. Let me know I will assist you.
