Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): sthil chainsaw, adjustment screws, exhaust ports

Question
hello ,hope you can help me on this one,i have worked on many lawnmowers, blowers.weedeaters, chainsaws ect,but cannot figure this one out.i have a sthil chainsaw, approx 28 inch bar, fairly new ,have put a carb kit in it,ect cannot keep the thing running, runs for 2-5 seconds and dies , like it is flooding or something, take the air filter off some gas showing on inside of barrel, dry off spark plug, pull start with plug out to dry chamber, replace plug ,starts again for 4-5 seconds and seems to flood, sick of pullin. thank you

Answer
Might be crazy but check the vent in the fuel cap.  I would take the carb apart again and make sure the diaphragm and gasket are in the correct sequence. Then check the inlet needle setting.  Exhaust ports and muffler cleen?  Spark arrestor not plugged?  Is there carb adjustment screws covered by silcone on the bard,  If so pick out the silicone and adjust them.  Let me know If I helped, hope so.
