Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): BS 10A902 wont start, air gap, safety switch

My mower won't start.  I'm not getting any spark when I pull the starter with the plug removed and laid against the block.  Any suggestions?

Make sure your safety switch on the side is pulling apart properly when the safety handle is pulled. Make sure the flywheel magnets aren't rusted over, or the pick-up portion on the coil. If you need to reset the coil air-gap use a regular business card between the flywheel magnets , and the coil. If still no spark, change the ignition coil. Now mind you I have a few, but very very few flywheels that had gone bad, the magnets become a little bit weak. this should get you going..........Tom
