Hi, I have a farm & country lawn tractor made by fridgidire I know there are a few types of fluids usable in hydrostatic  mower trans besides hydrolic, can you help thanks31

   There is nothing In the shop Manuals that says you cant use any brand except the MFR brand
you can use Basically any type Of hydrostatic Tranny fliuds on the market
I tend to stick with Mobil DelVac Hydraulic and hydrostat tranny fluids but I also service alot of Equipment where i use 55 gals a week
Since you Use this Machine Probably in the city or near the city You can go to any Farmers Agra Center and they have a wide variety of Hydrostat Fliuds to choose from.
Hydrolic Is Just another Fluid But you can try using Other brands each with different characteristics and detergents to ensure smooth operation
But you can also use Champion Super grade Torque Fluid 10W30

This is For use In Ford Transmissions and hydrostatic Transmissions by alot of shops
But Always Ask a Retailer If they carry Hydrostatic Fluids chances are they do and Its always avavilable
Generally when i Buy my Fluids I go to a Tractor dealer or when I cant I call a Lubricating Fluids Distributor for their input on product
