Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): log splitter engine, oil drain

Question
Wanting to change the crankcase oil in my log splitter. It has a Briggs and Stratton 6hp engine and I can't find the drain hole anywhere visible.  What am I missing?

Answer
Hey Mike,

I've not used a log splitter machine, but I notice that every Briggs & Stratton engine [Lawnmowers] has the oil filler located toward the front of the machine on the side of the muffler.  The drain plug is usually directly below where the filler plug is located.  If you follow the filler cap down to the bottom side of the engine then you may find the drain plug there.

I hope this information is helpful to fixing your problem.

Howard
