Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): stihl 041 clutch, clutch shoes, clutch springs

Question
I have an old Stilh 041 non av. Having a problem with the clutch.  On idle, the clutch will make a short squeal and the chain will jump.  I have the idle set all the way down.  Is it possible the clutch need replaced.  Any help would be appreciated.  Are clutch springs still avalialbe for these saws, could they be weak?

Answer
Hello Ed:

>>You are on the Right Trail.
>>The Clutch Springs are Weak.
>>I Suggest you Purchase a Complete Clutch.
>>Usually if the Clutch Springs are Weak, then the Clutch Shoes are Worn and will Require Replacing before to Long.
>>I have Not Seen the Springs for Sale by themselves in a Few Years Now, but they Might be Available from some Stihl Dealers.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
