Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Blowing fuses, amp fuse, fuse blows

Question
I have a Craftsman 18.5 HP lawn tractor model 917.273634.  I installed a new battery that was the wrong hand.  The 20 amp fuse blew of course.  After getting the correct battery and replacing the fuse I can start and drive the mower.  My problem is that when I try to engage the mower deck it blows the fuse again. All the wiring looks good and it was worked properly before I goofed up with the wrong hand battery.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Answer
Check the clutch harness.  The wiring diagram shows the clutch harness a seperate.  Dis-connect the harness, closest to the clutch.

With it dis-connected engage the blades and see if the fuse blows.

Have you checked the blades to see if they move by turning them with you hand?

Let me know what you find.
