Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): yardman charging, hp briggs, charging battery

Question
14 hp briggs twin , not charging battery. Looks as there is a regulator 2 yellow 2 red wires , starts and runs fine .How do I check?  Thanks

Check out the link above.  The link below tells you have to check the alternator.  If you have AC into the rectifier but no DC out the the reg is bad.  You should have one or two AC wires in and one DC wire comming out.  Use the site below, check the AC in and the other wire is the DC out.
