Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Echo SRM 2100, zama carburetors, spark arrestor

Question
I have an Echo SRM 2100

I replaced the primer bulb which had a hole in it along with the air filter and the fuel filter ( inside the tank).

Now trimmer won't start.  I even tried a small amount of ether and it still wouldn't start.

I tested the spark plug  and can see a spark jump from wire to plug.  The new primer bulb pumps the fuel back into the tank just fine.

The engine would start before I did these minor repairs even with the broken primer bulb.

I do notice a small amount of oil/ fuel dripping out the exhaust area.

Any suggestions for troubleshooting / repair are appreciated.

Thank you.

Answer
Hello George:

I Just Recently Located this Technical PDF File Online. It is Ideal for Trimmer and Chainsaw Carburetors, No Matter who the OEM is. You can Get Technical Information on Zama Carburetors at this Site Addy; http://www.zamacarb.com/tips.html and Select the Technical Guide. This Guide will Work Well for Walbro and Other Trimmer and Chainsaw Carburetors. I Suggest you Inspect and Clean the Exhaust Also. The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated. **Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear. If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off. If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model and Type Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Unit you Wish to View. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
