Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mower blade will not stay engaged, worn clutch, blade control

Question
I have a Honda HRR216VXA mower that i bought last year. Just recently the blade has started to disengage while i am mowing with out me releasing the blade control lever. I can engage the blade again but it will almost imediatly release again. The only way that i can finish the lawn is to hold the roto-stop lever down so the blade will stay engaged. Any sugestions are appreciated.

Answer
Hello David:

From your Description it Sounds like the Blade Clutch Needs to be Disassembled and Inspected. Usually the Cause for this Problem is a Worn Drive Disc, a Worn Driven Disc or a Worn Clutch Spring. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Select the Lawn Mower File. Then Scroll to your Model Mower and Click on it. Now Select the Rotary Blade (2) File. The Blade Clutch Assembly is Shown as Breakdown #5. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
