Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman riding lawn mower transaxle stopped operating, craftsman riding lawn mower, clutch lever

Question
I have a craftsman riding lawn mower with a 22 hp kohler cv22s motor.I was mowing x 2 wks ago and the engine died so I changed plugs & cleaned out the carb.It started fine & the engine runs well, but when put it into gear (Fwd. or Rev)the transaxle won't engage with the brake/clutch pedal engaged or disengaged. The belts appear to turning adequately & it was engaging fine when the engine stalled.I was not in high grass either. Can you please advise to what some solutions might be available,Thank you!

Answer
Hello Russ:

Even though the Belt Looks like it is On All the Pulleys and Idlers, I have Seen Belts Jump and Ride on the Belt Guard and Not Smoke or Squeal. Remove the Cutter Deck and Eyeball the Belt and Ensure it is On All the Pulleys and Idlers Correctly. Is the Brake/Clutch Lever Moving Properly? Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine or the Mower Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Engine Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. Thanks.
