Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Go kart wont move until almost full throttle, torque convertor, go cart

Question
My son's go kart won'nt move until you press the gas pedal to almost full trottle. Engine runs fine, could this be a clutch or torque cnverter issue? Or possibly something else.

Thanks for your past help with my old 1964 Briggs.

Answer
Hi Again Brian:

You are More than Welcome for Any Assistance I can Give and have Given. Depending on what this Go Cart Uses; it is either the Clutch or the Torque Convertor. Most Go Carts Use a Clutch Similar to the Clutch on a Chain Saw. Most Golf Carts Use a Torque Convertor. A Torque Convertor give a Smoother Start for the Ground Drive, where as the Clutch is a Sharper Grab and Go Start for the Ground Drive. If Sounds like the Clutch Drum/Bell is Worn. I Suggest you Replace the Clutch/Torque Convertor. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
