Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere LX188 problems, john deere lx188, kawasaki engines

I have a ‘92 LX188 (650 hrs) that the engine would die on me. When I restarted it, the engine would barely run on full choke and would die if I took it off of choke. I had it in at a local Deere dealer. They put a new carburetor on. When I brought it home it ran the engine would rev up & down but it would run for approximately 2 hours (2 cuts) and then died. It was that same thing that happened with the old carburetor only 100’s less in the bank. They took it back (#2) and readjusted the carburetor. I got 2 hours out of it and it died again. On their 3rd try they ran it for two hours under load (cutting) returned it to me. This time it died within 20 minutes. I gave up last year. I took it this year (#4) to a different dealer that sells a different brand that also uses Kawasaki engines. They adjusted the carburetor and again it worked for 15 minutes. I took it back they adjusted it worked fine for 30 minutes and then died. Each time it died the engine would rev up and down on choke and not run under normal settings before it stopped. Even after the engine cooled it still would only run on choke. I’m getting ready to take it back (#6) but I’m looking for any help I can get. I don’t want to give up but I don’t know what else I can do. Or ask them to do.

Has Anyone Checked the Gas Tank Cap and Made Sure it is Venting the Tank? Has the Pickup Tube in the Tank been Checked? These are 2 Common Problems with JD Ride On Mowers when you are having the Problem you Described and you have Eleminated the Carburetor as the Cause. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online.
