Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman power washer, craftsman power washer, honda gc160

Question
I have a Craftsman power washer powered by a Honda GC160 engine.  It will start with one or two pulls, run for about 20 seconds then die like someone turned it off.  Any ideas?  I took off the gas cap to see if the breather was plugged but same problem.  I bypassed the fuel pump and rigged up a gravity feed.  Same problem.  Does this model have an oil pressure sensor switch and can it be bypassed?

Your carburetor could be the culprit here. Having that type of problem I would look at oil pressure sensor first. To by pass it you would need to unplug it and start the washer with it unplugged,if it wont start at all then run a small jumper wire in the connectors. If that still doesn't work I would recommend looking at the the carb to see if it is dirty, you may need to remove it and use a carb cleaner inside and out. Make sure you remember where all the springs and other parts go to as you may forget, where they went. Then you will have another problem, take some digital pictures of the carb together and then when you remove things, also there are a lot of small parts that can get lost.
