Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda lawn mower carb.float, honda lawn, arinet

Question
The float looks to be in good condition, however the float must raise very high to stop fuel flow. So far that it doesn't stop it. Fuel leaks out of carb. a short time  after fuel valve is opened.  Is there an adjustment that can be done or just replace float?

Answer
Hello Rick:

This Problem is Usually Caused by the Float Needle Not Seating Correctly. I Suggest you Replace the Float Needle and Make Sure the Seat the Float Needle Rests Against in the Body of the Carburetor is Not Damaged or has a Piece of Trash Lodged in it. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
