Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Timing on Cub Cadet, cub cadet, key switch

Question
I need to know how to set the timing on my Cub Cadet Series 2000 riding lawn mower. The last time I used the lawn mower and went to cut it off(by turning off key and lowering the throttle)the engine wanted to continue running. After several attempts the engine finally quit running.  Several days later I tried to crank but it will not fire. It has a Linamar engine model# ZX390 113170 S/N# C00X186522. Please help

Answer
I would suspect a bad key switch or a bad wire is causeing the problem.  If you remove the top engine shroud/cover you will see the ignition coil.  There should be one small wire connected to the coil.  Trace it back all the way to the ignition switch and make sure it is not dis-connected.

Can you send me the mower model number located on a sticker near the rear of the mower.  I can look up the wiring diagram with the mower model number.
