Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 1996 indy sport polaris snowmobile, polaris snowmobile, cdi ignition

Question
QUESTION:  Snowmobile has been running great. I parked it for a few days and now I can't get it to start. I put new plugs in it and i know it's getting gas because when i pull out the plugs they are wet with gas. Could it be the coil? Can the coil die withou warning or does it usually get weak first. Thanks, jonathan

ANSWER: Hello Jonathan:

Are the Plugs Firing? The Plugs can be Firing and Still be Wet. If the Flywheel Key was Damaged when you Shut Off the Engine Last Time, the Plugs Fire Out of Time and the Engine Will Not Start or Run. Check for Fire. If No Fire at the Plugs, then the CDI or the Pickup Module May be Bad. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

QUESTION: Hi John, Thanks for responding so quickly. I checked the plugs to see if they were firing by unscrewing them and then pulling the recoil. I could see spark arcing on both plugs. I then poured a cap full of gas into each cylinder and reinserted the plugs. It still did not fire when I pulled the recoil. On the side of the engine is mounted a CDI ignition, I could not find any numbers on it. I did find a plate on the engine it has serial # 9601421 and product # ec443pmoo.152974 I don't know if this will help you or not engine is made by FUJI heavy IND LTD.  Thanks for your time any more advice would be greatly appreciated. sincerely, Jonathan

Answer
Hello Again Jonathan:

If the Plugs are Firing, then the CDI is Good. Check the Compression Next. Also, it the Flywheel Key was Damaged when you Shut the Engine Down Last, it will Cause the Plugs to Fire Out of Time with the Compression/Power Stroke and the Engine will Not Start or Run. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
