Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda gx120, wood splitter, carburetor

Question
Hi Eric,
I have a Honda GX120 engine I use to run my wood splitter. I split wood every weekend and was splitting last weekend. This weekend when I went to start my splitter it wouldn't start.
I replaced the spark plug, and cleaned the sediment cup. I don't know anything about small engine repair. Do you have any suggestions for me?
thanks,
Loren

Answer
Is the gas new or did you use some gas that is more than 30 days old?  Did you try removing the caburetor bowl nut located on the bottom of the carburetor to drain the fuel from the carb bowl?
Will the engine start if you spray starting fluid directly into the carburetor through the air filter housing?  You will need to remove the air filter to spray starting fluid into the carburetor throat.
Let me know if it will start with starting fluid.
Eric
