Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mini Bike, briggs and stratton, fuel tank cap

Question
I have a mini bike that has a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton motor with Model # 135212 and Type # 0006.  I first had to unfreeze the motor by torqueing on the crankshaft.  My next problem is that I can get it started but it will only rev up and then die.  (The only way I can get it started is by spraying gas into the intake.)  I figured the problem was somewhere in the fuel delivery.  I now have the gas tank removed and have disassembled the carburetor.  There was a lot of junk all around the fuel pickup tube, so I used B-12 Chemtool and cleared out the gas tank and the carburetor as best as I could.  I'm just not sure that I cleaned out the fuel pickup tube (not the one with the screen on it) very well.  I'm trying to fix it right the first time so that I don't have to keep taking it apart and putting it back together.  Any suggestions?

Since this engine was froze up probably due to lack of use for a long time.It probably has more issues the carb is one of the major problems for not starting or running poorly.

Your Problem: Engine will not start or is hard to start.
Possible causes:

Fuel tank is empty or shutoff valve is closed, or fuel line or fuel tank cap vent is clogged.
There is water in the fuel.
Carburetor is overchoked.
Carburetor is improperly adjusted or needs service.
Ignition system or its wiring is defective or ignition switch is off.
Deadman or other cutoff switch is open or defective.
Spark plug is fouled, improperly gapped, or damaged.
Engine compression is poor.

Your Problem: Engine starts easily but dies after a few seconds.
Possible causes:

Fuel tank is empty or shutoff valve is closed, or fuel line or fuel tank cap vent is clogged.
Carburetor is overchoked.
Carburetor is improperly adjusted or needs service.

Your Problem: Engine idles roughly, unevenly, or surges.
Possible causes:

Carburetor is dirty.
Air leak in carburetor or intake manifold (e.g., bad O-ring, gasket, primer).
