Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): CCR 1000 Toro Snowblower, toro snowblower, dear mike

Question
We had a big snow storm last night, I started up and used my Toro snowblower, it did a great job for most of the driveway.  But, after stopping for a few minutes to move a vehicle it started right up but the "paddle" part would not spin.  After thoroughly cleaning out the ice and snow it started to spin but too slowly, it now won't shoot out the snow.  The paddle is a bit warn from use.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer
Dear Mike in Michigan,

I own Toro Snowblower's which sound similar to the one you describe.  The first thing to check would be whether the housing [on either side of the paddles] has somehow gotten pushed in towards the paddles.  I have found that on occasion this can and does happen. Try [with the engine off] to spin the paddles and see if you can detect if anythings obstructing their ability to turn.  Are the paddles in good shape? I would check this area first before I would address any engine/mechanical problems that might be happening.

Let me know.
