Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere 16hp, briggs stratton, 6 digits

Question
Hello I have a John deere 111 that was retro fitted with a 16hp v-twin. Im not sure how old motor is but would like to get a little more out of it. When the snowblower kicks in it seems sluggish. Do they have a replacement? Or would I be better having someone rebuild it? Briggs&Stratton Model#402707 Type:0132 code:84061812 Thanks for any help! Mike

Answer
Hello Mike:

The Sluggish Problem could be Something as Simple as a Dirty Carburetor. Briggs has No Suggested Replacement for this Engine. Yhey Suggest Repairing the Old Engine. When was the Carburetor Last Cleaned? You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers (first 4 digits Only). Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
