Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snow Blower Spark Plug Gap Setting +, spark plug gap, adjustment screws

Question
I have a Craftsman Snow Blower with a Tecumseh engine it is a Model HMSK100-159212T, 10 horse power. I purchased it in 1995. I would like to know what the spark plug gap setting is. Also; What is the gap setting between the ignition coil & the flywheel? Is the screw that is just above the carburetor the high speed adjustment, and is the screw directly above that screw the low speed adjustment? My father-in-law has  A CraftMaster Model 319-586-515, it is an 8 horse power,he purchased[  it in 1989... I have the same question of that one too. I would really appreciate if you can help me on these questions!

Answer
Dear John,

For the HMSK 100 the spark plug gap is .030" (.762MM)
The air gap  should be set for .0125"(.3175MM).  As far as the adjustment screws, the idle mixture screw sits just above the float bowl, and the screw that fits into the bottom of the float bowl is the Main mixture screw.  These screws should be used under load at 1/8 per adjustment.

i would need more info as per your father-in-laws machine, ie. serial no.
Hope this information is helpful.
