Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): chainsaw repair, husqvarna 61, piston ring

Question
QUESTION: i got a husqvarna 61 chainsaw that i am fixing up. i changed the fuel line, put in a new piston ring, and oiled it all up. i put it all back together and i am having trouble pulling on the cord, it is very stiff. i thought that something might be blocking the exuast, but its all clear, plus i removed it to make sure and still had the same problem. if i take off the spark plug it pulls very smoothly, i cant figure out the problem.
thanks for reading it.

ANSWER: Hello Cedar:

If it is Like Mine; it the Compression. Does your Saw have a Manual Compression release? If Not, then have One Installed. Makes Starting Much Easier. I had to Set Mine on the Ground and Hold it with my Foot. Then Use Both Hands and Pull Hard. It Usually Started on the Third Pull, but I was Worn Out by then. I Installed a Manual COmpression Release and I'm Good to Go Now. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Hello Again Cedar:

I Forgot to Mention, Check the Flywheel Key First. If the Key is Damaged it will Cause the Problem you Described. Thanks Again.

Answer
Hello Again Cedar:

I will Try and Locate a Part Number and a OEM for the Compression Release. I Did my Saw Quite a While Ago. You need to Remove the Piston Again and Drill and Tap the Jug for the Compression Release to Screw Into the Jug Near the Spark Plug. Remind me of this Question in a Couple of Days if I Fail to Send you a Follow Up Answer. I get Many Questions and Even Writing Down the Name, I Sometimes Can Nor Locate the Questioner to Send the Information to. Thanks.
