Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Chainsaw chain not getting oil, e mail address, chain oiler

Question
QUESTION: I have a Mac 3216, 32cc, that's not getting oil to the chain.

Can you help me diagnose the problem as it's not clear to me how the chain oil gets from the reservoir to the bar.

Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.

p.s. I'm sending this question again today as I noticed an error in my e-mail address.

ANSWER: Hello Gary:

You can View a Breakdown of the Equipment at this Site Addy; http://www.emerichsales.com/home.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts and Accessories Online Parts Catalog Box. You May have to Scroll Down a Small Amount. Now Select the Model Tab. Now Select the OEM and Enter the Model (UT) Numbers (example: 13-XXXXXXX). You can Also Use the Product Tab if you are having Trouble Locating the Model/UT Numbers. I Used the 11-600032-09 Mac 3216 Breakdown. Select the Powerhead Assembly File. The Oil Pump is #1 in the Breakdown. If the Outlet Port of the Chain Oiler is Clear, then the Oiler May need to be Rebuilt/Replaced. The Oiler is a Common Problem with these Chainsaws and the Dealers Usually have an Oiler in Stock. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: Dear John:
Thank you very much for a good exploded diagram for use diagnosing/repairing my no oil delivery in my Mac 3216. However, it would be very helpful if I could obtain actual steps to disassemble/re-assemble necessary parts to access the oil pump, hoses, etc to isolate/fix the problem.

It would be great if this info is available on-line. Otherwise would you recommend a good Service Manual (and source).  I've checked my local library and found only a 1989 edition. Do you know what year(s) the Mac 3216 was made?

Again, thank you for your help thus far and for any additional info you can provide.

-Gary

Answer
Hello Again Gary:

The Saw will have to be Taken Completely Out of the Casing. I am in the Process of Making Instruction Files for Certain Procedures. I will Add this to the Instruction File List. I am Not Certain of the Exact Years of Production, However, they were Produced from 1988 to 1993 at Least. My Microfiche and Manuals are for those Years. I Usually Purchase Manuals from Outdoor Distributors @ 1-877-707-2787. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
